Parenting Development

The following organizations were allocated funding for Parenting Development during our current cycle of funding (Cycle 2).

Family Resource Centers
First 5 funded Family Resource Centers provide many FREE programs, services, and activities for families with children ages 0-5:
  • Fun and educational parent/child activities
  • Information on and assistance in accessing community resources
  • Application assistance for Medi-Cal, Health Families, and Healthy Kids Insurance programs for children
  • Parenting Workshops
  • Playgroups for Children and Parents
  • Home Visits
  • And much more!

Offers a range of bilingual family-centered programs for families in Salinas including parenting workshops, home visits, playgroups for children and parents, and assistance accessing community resources. Child care is provided on-site for families participating in programs.

Dads in Action (

A parenting education program for fathers in Salinas and South County.  Some topics include child development, literacy, paternity, health, discipline and relationships.   

Home Visiting Program (Action Council of Monterey County)
Coordinates the Family Resource Center Network and provides home visiting services for families involved with the Family Resource Centers.  Contact a Family Resource Center to arrange.
