PARENTS AS TEACHERS: HOME VISITING PROGRAM PROGRAM

Image about PARENTS AS TEACHERS: HOME VISITING PROGRAM PROGRAM

First 5 Monterey County's Parents as Teachers is a CalWORKs Home Visiting Program (HVP) and a voluntary service for families who are part of the CalWORKs program.  Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a parent coaching program. Participating parents will increase their understanding of how to support children in ways that support their growth, health and development. Parent educators, through our partner agencies, also support parents with: referrals, parent coaching, connections to other families with young children and access to free materials that families need to support their baby's early development, for example: a car seat, books, educational toys, etc.

Parents as Teachers Home Visiting Program is made possible through a partnership with Monterey County Department of Social Services, CalWORKs Employment Services, who provides funding, and three community organizations that offer PAT services.

Eligible families can access Parents As Teachers services by contacting their CalWORKS Case Manager directly or by calling the general CalWORKs Employment Services (CWES) phone line at (831) 755-4452.
