Education and advocacy are powerful tools to help raise awareness about the significance of the early years. As a voice for young children and families in Monterey County, we partner with and listen to the community to identify what is working for families and where challenges exist. We collectively bring this information to leaders and decision makers to help shape local, state, and federal policies and practices that address needs. These policies can lay a foundation for young children to reach their unique potential in families and communities that value, respect, and invest in early childhood.
Each year, we monitor local, state, and federal processes to identify pending legislation that can positively impact families, early childhood programs, family well-being, and integrated systems.
The Central Coast Early Childhood Advocacy Network (CCECAN) is dedicated to centering parent voices at the heart of advocacy work to support systems and policies that prioritize families.
